The Why?
Addressing the lack of caring, sensitive and high quality health care for women across the country is the prime focus of our organization. There are various facilities that exist and provide the needed health care services. However, women are still being treated as cattle and are usually herded in and out of offices or hospitals.
Getting a GYN exam is a formidable event for most women. In addition, the average wait time to see a Gynecologist in the country can vary from 6 wks to 3 months. There is nothing more disempowering for a woman to be denied immediate care for a private health issue when she needs it. To fill that gap and create lasting change, I founded Walk IN GYN care, the first of its kind center that provides high quality, compassionate and accessible care to all women "when" they need it.
The What?
Walk In GYN Care provides comprehensive same day women's health services so all women can get right back to being the super humans they are. The first Walk IN GYN Care center was born in the heart of New York in 2014. In a short span of 6 months, as the word spread, we were seeing on an average 35-40 women a day. In just one year, over 10,000 women benefited from our services at only one location, more than half of them had just walked in.
And by providing walk-in services:
- We have been able identify hundreds of cases of breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers - that may have otherwise gone un-detected for YEARS …
- We're curing thousands of STDs that are known to cause newborn deaths …
- We're reducing emergency room visits by 40% …
- And with all that … we're reducing the epic financial burden that our healthcare system is suffering from.
We are open evenings and weekends to enable the busy women of today receive the care that they deserve.
The long-term vision…
Our goal is to create more facilities across the entire nation that have the common goal of caring for women with compassion and high standards, so women can feel safe going to any of those centers. Under no circumstance should a woman feel weak and vulnerable.
Our organization's purpose and vision is to provide sterling quality women's health services amidst a work culture of positivity and growth.
At Walk In GYN care, there are over 50 team members who have grown with us. Many of these are women who are hard working mothers and care givers who believe in the vision and have shown tremendous commitment and growth. Walk IN GYN has given them a place and purpose. My mission is to empower women in all societies by spreading education, creating employment and ensuring a safe environment at all times.
Empathetic and swift care for all women should be a right not a luxury.
